Generally these are still pretty vague recollections (as well as taking into account the usual possibility that people are misremembering) and nobody actually knows what it was for. Our waitress was very nice, and the atmosphere of the place was charming and unpretentious, but the value was low (at least for the high-end, chef's choice menu), and the food was lacking.Other people do claim to remember this, including someone who thinks it most likely aired between 20, as well as someone else who remembers something similar playing before a film at the cinema in July 2007. The clams, prosciutto, and caprese were very nice, though nothing remarkable, and the lamb was delicious. When my wife couldn't eat much of this, they brought out a red sauce dish, but again, very mild. We were disappointed that the dishes that were selected were the most basic options on the menu, and the first pasta dish they brought out was a mild, cream sauce dish. We let our waitress know that we'd prefer robust, flavorful dishes, and to please minimize any milk-based sauces due to a milk allergy. We were feeling adventurous, so opted for the latter, and chose the highest price-point they offered, at $60/person (which we were told would mostly result in higher quality, rather than quantity compared to the mid-priced options). The menu looked appealing, but they encourage diners to simply choose a price point and then let the restaurant provide a selection of food.

This is a friendly, intimate restaurant in the Pioneer Square area.

This is the oddest experience I ever have had while seeking lunch. I then went to another of my nearby known favorite places that has a clean, convenient washroom and had a lovely lunch - just not at Che Sara Sara. Therefore, I ended up leaving, did not eat there at all (hence, the one-star rating since I have no idea if it's good or not), and don't plan to return. This person made it clear, by not explaining where even to find the washroom and/or why I had to wear some community restroom coat, that he was not interested to have me as a customer. No instructions where to find the washroom, which I'd already looked for and could not find prior to coming to the street entrance of this café. We won't hesitate to go back!Īlthough I kept my reservation, upon arriving and expressing my wish to wash my hands first, the host/waiter took me into the kitchen, told me to "put on the coat hanging on the door" and "go into the main building," then, to be sure to put the coat back on the door when I returned. Not a screaming deal but a decent price for a nice restaurant in Pioneer Square. We got out of there for around $130, including tax and tip (and two glasses of really outstanding chianti each). My only recommendation to Luigi to make his place even more authentic would be to play some Italian music instead of a local radio station (not that I don't enjoy Christmas music on Warm 106.9 around the holidays just that authentic Italian music would have REALLY transported us to Puglia! There was only one other couple in the restaurant at the time (it was early, plus, there are only 20 seats total) and Luigi took plenty of time with us as we exchanged stories of his home in Puglia and our travels there. My wife and I had a salad and antipasti to start, a pasta with fennel and sausage dish, a pork shoulder with red wine reduction and polenta, and salumi cioccolato for dessert. shellfish) and he'll whip up a perfectly portioned four course dinner for you.

There is a menu but why bother, carpe diem! Tell Luigi your price point and anything you don't like (i.e. And must try it is! This place is right out of Italy. A great little find! I'm actually surprised I'd never heard of it until a friend mentioned it as a must try.
